Since I started this blog I have been meaning to give a brief history of where we are and how we got here... Nothing has changed for me, I still fly by the seat of my pants, go with the flow-no matter what direction, and pretty much enjoy every minute of it!! HA HA- Well, maybe not EVERY minute....
Wow- this Friday Dec 12 will mark our 11 yr anni- I can't believe it. I'm sure James feels like it's been an eternity already!! But not me.............I still have the biggest crush on him. After leaving Weber we moved to Boise where James went to BSU- Yes you all know- the home of the AMAZING BOISE STATE BRONCOS--- and studied in the Construction Managment program/ Business- He started working with a concrete company during this time. I taught in the resource room at a middle school for a year while preg with Zayne. After Zayne came, I started doing part time work for my dad, who move to Boise right before we did to start a baby calf ranch. He wanted to start a business raising little baby heifers or milk cows for the dairymen all over the Treasure Valley. When I started with him, he had 3 or 4 dairies, maybe 500 babies on hand. He would go to the dairy every time a baby was born, and if it was a female, bring it back to his ranch and care for it until weaned off milk-- maybe 4 mos or so. Then return them right back to their original home. He had two hired hands, and me to do his office work. In the meantime, James was still schooling and working like crazy, when we were blessed with our little Jo-- Jordan. The more James was involved with actual work, the less he did with school- long story short, he plans on finishing... someday, I believe he only has 8-9 classes left. After mastering the concrete end of things, which by the way he does amazing stamp work--he took a job with a general who built houses, and also did all his own excavation and concrete. James ran all the concrete for him. This lasted 4 years. This company James worked for also ended up being the company my dad hired to build his amazing calf ranch. His 500 head soon turned to 8 then 9 then 10 thousand little babies- and over 50 emplyees. I was still running his office and yes having more blessings!! Kaden in December and one year later- Brooklynn. Last year my dad decided it might be a good thing to teach James the business, and let him manage all the construction projects, old and new. So one year ago this month, James turned into a ranchin fool along with my pops. My brother Ryan graduated from BSU and started managing the office full time, allowing me to be home a lot more. Which has been wonderful!! James is great and so talented. He built the house we live in now, next to the ranch. Did A TON of it ourselves, with the help of his boss, and family. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful companion and friend. He stays so busy with the ranch, which now has 18,000 babies.-- 9,000 are bottle fed. It has been a great 11 years. I absolutely love my little ones-- they are all, James included- the love of my life.
